How to Growing Tomatoes

TOMATO IS ALSO known as the "love apple" is a perennial plant that is grown in a short time. I've just found this tree growing up to 4 years, and the plant becomes very high but the yield remain heavy. Tomato fruit is plump, tender and juicy with a fine grain in it. Tomatoes are rich in beta carotene, vitamin C and vitamin B.

Growing place :

The tomato plant is not fussy. You just need a place that receives a lot of light, especially in the morning light.

Tomatoes can be grown in containers :

The type of soil that can be used is free as long as rich organic matter (compost and humus) and have good drainage. Tomatoes cannot tolerate stagnant water unless the that water flows as in hydroponic systems.

You can also plant it in a container. Use containers or polybags, at least 30 cm high. If planting in the ground, dig a 30 cm (12 inches) and put chicken dung or compost. You can also use regular fertilizer rich in phosphate.

Tomato growing well in soil with a pH of 5.8 to 7.00. If the soil is too acidic (less than pH 5.5), put some lime powder. After this, you no longer need fertilizers until trees producing flowers.

If planting in a container, and set up own soil, mix 3 parts loam to 1 part sand. Mix with 7 to 10g fertilizer NPKMg (12:12:12:17). use commercial fertilizer or 1 part compost.

Sowing :

Sow seeds are not too close to the sowing box or one seeds in each cell seedling trays in a hole as deep as 13 mm (0.5 inches) and cover the hole.

Use the fully decomposed compost soil. Water with caution. Cover the container under a black plastic nursery for 48 hours. Seeds will germinate within 6 to 8 days.

When two or three shoots have grown, move into a small pot, preferably a pot size of 5 to 8 cm (2-3 inches) and place in a sunny spot and good aeration. This is to prevent fungal infections. If using soil rich in compost, manure is not necessary during this process. use compost once every two weeks.

Removing :

Remove the tomatoes into larger pots when necessary. Keep some distance the tree about 60-90 cm (24-36 inches) if planted with free or 38 cm (15 inches) if using spikes.

Using spikes :

If planting tomatoes climbing types, use wooden poles as a support tool to ensure that the tree does not fall down. If planting leafy trees, do not have to use wooden pegs.

Fertilizing :

If you use a soil rich in compost, you do not need fertilizer until new trees are starting to blossom. However, if you want to fertilizing, use a fertilizer rich in nitrogen.

When the tree starts to flower, fertilizing with a liquid fertilizer (fish water or liquid seaweed) or use compost. If using commercial fertilizers, use a liquid fertilizer rich in potassium (English, potassium).

Care :

You need regular watering, but do not let water stagnate. Weeding at least once a week. If planting tomatoes climbing, remove the side shoots that grow on trees. also remove the flowers that grow on the branches that have fruited, is to ensure that the nutrients are concentrated on fruit alone.
